We enjoyed this place - great quality and lovely old hotel.
Place was spotlessly clean, everything was perfect. The rooms were huge, newly decorated for take shower, ideal for us. The location to the harbour in the morning was particularly good for us.

Everything was good, very good staff, magnificent location just next door to the beach as well as marvelous sea food eateries. The family room was newly renovated, had complimentary Wi-Fi and it's own balcony. Appreciated the location near to everything. The rooms at Methavalai Hotel in Cha-Am are absolutely amazing! They have a cozy seating area where you can unwind after a tiring day of exploring. The air conditioning is a great perk and the free WiFi is a lifesaver for someone like me who wants to stay connected. The hot water kettle is perfect for making a cup of tea or coffee whenever you want. The traditional Thai teak houses add a unique touch to the overall experience. The contemporary Thai decor in the rooms is simply stunning!
Personally, I didn't enjoy the orange tiled triangular roofs of the traditional Thai teak houses as much as the rest of the room. However, I understand that others might find them charming and it's just my subjective opinion.

The location was perfect, just a short walk from the beautiful beach. We loved spending time at The Villa Wing Pool, which had a children's area with a waterfall and slide. The kids had a blast splashing around while my wife and I enjoyed swimming laps. The rooms were spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated. The staff was friendly and accommodating, always going the extra mile to make us feel welcome. The breakfast buffet was impressive, offering a variety of options to satisfy everyone's cravings. it was a memorable family experience that we will cherish forever.
For families with children, my wife says that it would have been great to have more kid-friendly activities or a kids' club at the hotel. It would have added even more fun and excitement for the little ones during our stay.

The free WiFi and safe in the room are also very convenient. We loved the hot water kettle for making tea and coffee, and the minibar stocked with goodies. The contemporary Thai decor gives a nice touch and makes you feel like you're truly immersed in the local culture.
I personally didn't enjoy the orange tiled triangular roofs on the traditional Thai teak houses. It's just not my style, but some people might find it charming.

I was kinda surprised by the great value for money and cleanliness of the hotel. The beach is just steps away, making it convenient to enjoy the beautiful coastal views. The breakfast selection was the best I've had during my time in Thailand. The Thai pavilion room was a unique and clean experience, and the bed was comfortable. I also appreciated the convenience of having control of most of the room lights right by the bed. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and I loved the abundance of plants and flowers on the hotel grounds. I would highly recommend this hotel for a pleasant and relaxing stay.
While the hotel had many positives, there were a few drawbacks. The pigeons around the swimming pool and on the balcony were a slight nuisance.

The basic amenities are all taken care of, including new air-conditioning units and a little front patio with deck chairs to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. All aspects of our stay at this hotel were more than satisfactory.
